14th Baisakh, Kathmandu. World Tai Chi and Qigong Day has been celebrated in Nepal. The day was celebrated by organizing various programs under the auspices of the Nepal Uma Kung Fu Association.
At the event held at Shankh Park, South Asian Games (SAG) gold medalist Wusuka Angbabu Lama and participants presented an exhibition game.Ang Babu, President and International Judge of the Uma Kung Fu Association Sanjit Kumar Rai, Vice President and International Judge Bhupendra Gurung, enlightened the attendees about the importance of Tai Chi and Qigong.
On the same occasion, the Uma Kung Fu Association had formed a 9-member Shankha Park Tai Chi and Qigong Branch under the chairmanship of Shyam Prasad Gautam, who has been involved in this sport for a long time. The association also honored Deepak Shrestha, the head coach of Uma Kung Fu, who has been active in this sport for 5 decades.
Nepal Tai Chi Kwan Federation President Karma Lama, President Rai, Vice President Gurung, Vice President Ramesh Maharjan and others honored Chief Coach Shrestha by presenting him with a certificate of appreciation and a plaque. The association stated that more than 200 people participated in the program.
This day has been celebrated in various countries of the world s ince 1999 with the slogan 'One World, One Breath'. Vice President Gurung said that the day has been celebrated in Nepal for the past 20 years by organizing various programs.
